JULY 12th 1:00 p.m. Randy Baker Program on
Michigan Wildlife
Randy Baker has over 25 years
of experience teaching natural history and history to people
of all ages. As an ex-teacher and as a highly trained
naturalist Randy understands what it takes to hold the
attention of viewers that range from preschool children to
post-graduate adults. Randy's highly energetic and
professional style of presenting scientific and historical
information has resulted in his receiving numerous state wide
and national awards. Here are some photographic highlights
of Randy's Program held at the Gazebo on July 12,
2008.

Jim McGrath of Nature Discoveries Popular
program on wild creatures
of Michigan
The Michigan Wildlife Sampler
format calls on Nature Discovery to choose which wildlife
species to feature. Since they are
especially renowned for their live reptiles and
amphibians, some of these are always incorporated into the
presentation. They also commonly
choose an insect or other invertebrate, a bird, a mammal or a
fish, and possibly a wild plant to highlight.

with more “Creatures” for the kids to see
and touch.

You never know what you will encounter when Jim and
Carol McGraff present their Nature Discoveries program. But
what you will do is enjoy one of our most popular programs
ever, Have Fun and Learn!
AUGUST 23rd 2:00 p.m.
"Bats of the
World" From Cranbrook Science Center

Learn about and SEE bats. A popular
program for kids and parents alike! Step into the world of
bats with a cultural, geographic perspective. Led by a bat
researcher from the Organization for Bat Conservation, this
exciting multimedia program features life insectivorous bats,
vampire bats, and fruit bats with 4-foot wingspans. Topics
address sound waves, ecosystems, food webs and conservation.

AUGUST 23rd 8:00
p.m.
Sunset Astronomical Society
presents a Star Gazing program at Oak Beach Park. This has
been a very popular program. There will be telescopes set up
and you will "See The Stars" and learn about the great Huron
County night sky. Pat Ray, a teacher from Western High School
in Saginaw will present this program. For
