Joe Rogers has a gift for saving the lives of Hawks, Owls and other birds of prey. His work with these birds is conducted by The Wildlife Recovery Association in Shepherd, Michigan. Last summer Joe was at The Huron Nature Center with some of the birds he has saved and now cares for. The pictures here were taken during his presentation. Watch our comming events as we will have Joe back again soon.

Accessible To All Of Our Citizens
Because we want The Huron County Nature Center to be available to ALL of the Citizens of Huron County and Michigan we have established a handicapped accessible trail. This paved trail through the beautiful wooded acres is dotted by bridges and observation decks. No matter what your physical condition, this trail is an enjoyable adventure in nature.

New Building!
After years of planning the board of directors have announced that a new educational building is coming to the Huron County Nature Center. The building is a 2500 square foot modular classroom donated by the Huron County Intermediate School District. The HISD has made this building available for us if we pay for moving it to the Center and have a foundation put up. The Building, as shown below, has a 24'x36' classroom, a beautiful reception area, offices and several smaller classrooms. With the foundation complete, the building was placed at the nature center and we will be installing solar security and plans are underway to make our new building totally solar. If you would like to contribute to our "Earth Friendly" bulding, please do so. We can use all the help you are able to provide.
