June 16, 2012
2:00 PM to Sunset , with a break at 4:00 PM, Dale Vranch, a well-respected photographer and teacher from Lapeer, will present an intermediate level photography workshop. Space is limited to 10 people, with a $35 fee per person.
July 7, 2012
10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Birds of Prey with Joe Rogers. See live hawks, owls, and other birds of prey. Joe is a fascinating wildlife rescuer and presents a very popular program.

10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, The Organzation for Bat Conservation will have live bats on hand to teach all about bats - you will learn why these little mammals are so important.

10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Nature Discoveries with Jim and Carol McGrath present Michigan Snakes Alive. The kids will love this program and so will you! A great family program by these talented Michigan Naturalists.

10:30 AM to ?, Mushroom Identification with Dr. Ralph Czerepinski. A guided tour of the art of mushroom identification, with an emphasis on safety. A turly entertaining and educational excursion in the Nature Center.

Annual Fall Fundraising Dinner at the Nature Center. Dinner is at 6:00 PM, with a very special program (to be announced) at 7:00 PM. The Gift Shop will be open from 1:00 to 6:00 PM with end-of-season specials. There is a charge for dinner and the program.

Jim presented a great program for over 30 people. With live Michigan Salamanders we learned their life cycle, where we will find them and why they are often hard to find. Every program Jim and Carol present is always enjoyed by both kids and adults. Don't miss their next program!
Jim McGrath of Nature Discoveries Returns with more “Creatures” for the kids to see and touch.
The Michigan Wildlife Sampler format calls on Nature Discovery to choose which wildlife species to feature. Since they are especially renowned for their live reptiles and amphibians, some of these are always incorporated into the presentation. They also commonly choose an insect or other invertebrate, a bird, a mammal or a fish, and possibly a wild plant to highlig ht. You never know what you will encounter when Jim and Carol McGraff present their Nature Discoveries program. But what you will do is enjoy one of our most popular programs ever, Have Fun and Learn!
"Bats of the World" From Cranbrook science Center

Learn about and SEE bats. A popular program for kids and parents alike! Step into the world of bats with a cultural, geographic perspective. Led by a bat researcher from the Organization for Bat Conservation, this exciting multimedia program features life insectivorous bats, vampire bats, and fruit bats with 4-foot wingspans. Topics address sound waves, ecosystems, food webs and conservation.
Most programs at the Huron County Nature Center are free of charge. Free will donations are welcome! www.huronnaturecenter.org
